I am Chad Miller, a traditional fiddler deeply rooted in the musical heritage of New York State. My playing revives the spirited jigs, reels, waltzes and hornpipes of days gone by. Specializing in Old-Time, Canadian, and Northeast styles, I draw inspiration from the rustic sounds that echoed through early rural communities. I am a proud 2016 inductee into the New York State Fiddlers Hall of Fame, a recognition of my enduring commitment to preserving these historical melodies.
Bringing History to Life Through Music
I offer specialized, period-authentic musical programs for living history museums, historical societies, local libraries, and educational heritage events. From Erie Canal era celebrations to traditional community barn dances, my performances are carefully tailored to enrich historical programming and transport visitors back in time.
Forming a Traditional Tunes Club
I am currently seeking local instrumentalists in the Central New York area to form an informal music circle and tunes club. If you play the fiddle, piano, guitar, mandolin, hammered dulcimer, or concertina, and share a passion for traditional music I would be delighted to connect. Let us gather to keep this music alive.
